NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Wednesday said it will build a new animal shelter and hospital on 16,600 square meter of land, aimed at taking care of sick and homeless animals.

According to an official statement, Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M conducted on-site inspection in Sector 117 of the city and issued necessary instructions to the departments concerned for the project.

"The animal shelter and hospital spread over 16,600 square meters of land will be constructed by the Noida Authority. It will soon invite bids and issue request for proposal (RFP) for the project," the statement said.

It says, “The selected agency will manage all operations of the animal shelter/hospital, including expenses like salaries of shelter staff, electricity costs, veterinary expenses and food, all costs will be covered independently.,

Additionally, the agency will provide free ambulance services to transport sick and homeless animals to hospitals, where treatment will also be provided free of cost.

The authority said the animal shelter/hospital will have state-of-the-art facilities based on latest technology, which will ensure advanced medical treatment, surgeries and adequate provision of food and water to the animals.

Qualified doctors and veterinarians having higher education will be available, it said, adding that the facility will provide round-the-clock services for animal treatment and separate ambulances equipped with facilities for both large and small animals.

Lokesh M, CEO of the authority, said, "The selected agency will ensure regular operation of the animal shelter/hospital, including health care, monitoring, provision of food and water, ventilation, lighting, disposal of dead animals and maintaining records of all animals. "Includes keeping."

Specific facilities for dogs will include kennels, an operation theatre, sterilization facilities and services for Animal Birth Control (ABC).He said that this shelter will also facilitate in control of stray cattle/dogs roaming on the streets of Noida city.
