New Delhi: There was no respite from the scorching heat in Delhi on Saturday as the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.6 degrees Celsius, six degrees above the season's average, officials said.

He said that among its many weather stations, the temperature in Aya Nagar was recorded at 46 degree Celsius while in Palam the temperature was recorded at 45 degree Celsius.

Similar weather is likely to prevail on Sunday also, where the sky will remain clear and heat wave may prevail in many parts of Delhi.

The capital will remain on "orange" alert, which stands for "be prepared" in the India Meteorological Department's color code, for the next three days.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 45 and 32 degrees Celsius.
