New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, Awadhesh Prasad on Tuesday regretted that there was no mention of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, in the President's address to the joint meeting of Parliament.

In his maiden speech in the Lok Sabha, Prasad said that the roads of Ayodhya are filth and people have to walk through the filth to reach the newly constructed Ram temple.

During the discussion on the motion of thanks, the SP leader said, "I was very surprised to see that in the President's 29-page speech, there was neither any mention of Ayodhya nor the birthplace of Lord Ram."

He also expressed regret that the poor people from whom land has been acquired to build the airport in Ayodhya have not yet received proper compensation.
