District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar has directed liquor vendors to ensure that liquor is not consumed at places other than those permitted by the concerned departments.

The District Magistrate said consumption of liquor in public places, parking lots outside liquor shops and roadside is strictly prohibited.

“Liquor should not be consumed by parking vehicles outside liquor shops or standing near shops, which may cause inconvenience to the general public and may impair public peace and law and order. Any person found violating this will face strict legal action including fine and imprisonment up to six months.

Apart from this, the administration has also imposed a limit on the sale of liquor. According to the administration, the limit set for the sale of country liquor

For imported foreign liquor brands it is 4.5 liters per person.

“Similarly, only 2.5 liters of wine and six liters of beer can be sold to one person in both BIO and BI categories.

The District Magistrate also directed the printing presses and publishers to follow the ban on unauthorized printing of election-related pamphlets and posters.
