Hyderabad: NMDC Limited on Tuesday unveiled its new state-of-the-art Research and Development Center at Patancheru near here with an aim to advance innovation in mineral processing and sustainable steel technology.

A press release from the iron ore miner said it has made a strategic investment of over Rs 150 crore for research and development in the last five years and Rs 50 crore for the construction of a new R&D centre.

Spread over eight acres at Patancheru, the pioneering facility was inaugurated by Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), NMDC, in the presence of other directors and senior officials.

It said the R&D center houses state-of-the-art laboratories that promote innovation in sustainable mineral technology and ore beneficiation, managed by a team of experts.

Amitav Mukherjee said, “Recognizing our responsibility to innovate and lead the Indian mining industry towards a sustainable future through R&D, we open the doors to NMDC's new state-of-the-art R&D Centre. -As we move forward to innovate and inspire, we are not just investing in research here, we are investing in the future of India.
