George, who met Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda at her office here, said the district administration is closely monitoring 175 people in Malappuram.

"Based on our previous experiences and according to the protocol, there are high chances of the virus being transmitted from one person to another when the patient has severe symptoms," she said, adding that based on calculations of the minimum incubation period, everyone is being closely monitored.

"The samples tested so far are negative," she said.

George said Nadda has assured that the Union Health Ministry will provide all support and help to the state administration.

He informed that as per the protocol within a radius of 3 kilometers around that house, the district administration has declared several restrictions such as people have been asked not to gather and there is a time till which shops can operate and A containment zone has been declared.

As for the rest of the districts, she said people are asked to wear masks and are advised to avoid gatherings.

About his meeting with Nadda, he said: "I accepted the appointment a week ago, many issues were discussed. This is a continuation of what we are doing. And also, since Naddaji took office, I communicated through letters. That's why I asked for an appointment.
