Cricket Tasmania's high-performance general manager Sally Beames told reporters that the legal process regarding Choudhary was still ongoing and said he would likely play the upcoming season.

"There are some legalities to go through that process," ABC Sports reports. “It is not such a big incident because we know that nothing happened, legally no one is guilty and everything is there.

"It's just disclosure of information. We want to know where we sit because we were completely in the dark."

Beames said it was disappointing that Choudhary did not inform Cricket Tasmania about the allegations or the court proceedings.

“You have to deal with the perspective of the organization and my potential impact on it,” he said. “Because you really don't want to involve yourself in that type of investigation.

"But at the same time, you can understand from the players' perspective that you know, they haven't done anything wrong and it's a scary place to be. (You're) legally advised not to say anything, so you Always balancing different aspects of the story."

Choudhary played nine matches in the last BBL season, averaging 26 with the bat and taking five wickets for the Hurricanes team, which failed to reach the final. Chaudhary joined the franchise at the end of 2023 and his deal was extended till 2027 in February, a month before the Test.
