Mumbai: Hollywood star Nicolas Cage's creature horror film "Arcadian" will be available to stream on Lionsgate Play in India, the streamer announced on Friday.

The film, directed by Benjamin Brewer from a screenplay by Michael Nealon, will hit the Lionsgate Play platform on July 19. It will be available in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, the streaming service said in a statement.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with destruction and desolation, "Arcadian" stars Cage as Paul, a father willing to do anything to save his family.

"Their world is infested with deadly alien creatures hungry for human flesh, they face a challenge unlike any other. When Paul is mortally wounded while fighting against these creatures, His sons are forced to step up and fight every last creature on Earth, hoping for a better world for their family," the official storyline read.

Cage, who is known for his eclectic filmography, which includes hits such as "National Treasure," "Con Air" and "Leaving Las Vegas," said he is most interested in family films like "Ordinary People" and "East of Eden." Has been a fan of drama films.

"I'm also a fan of horror and science fiction, and I thought, "Wouldn't it be interesting to do a mash-up?" Where you have a family, especially this dynamic where there's a father and two boys, sadly My mother couldn't be around as much as I wanted, so my father did all the heavy lifting and then you apply it to (dynamic) science fiction," he said.

"Arcadia" had its world premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in March, followed by a theatrical release in the United States in April. The film also stars Jaden Martell and Maxwell Jenkins.
