Jammu, NIA Director General Sadanand Vasant Date and Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief RR Swain on Monday stressed the need to strengthen collaborative efforts in investigations to combat terrorism in the Union Territory.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) chief visited the police headquarters in Jammu, where he held detailed talks with the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police and other senior officials, a police spokesperson said.

He said that during the talks, the officials stressed the need to further strengthen collaborative efforts in combating terrorism and investigations to counter the supporting structures that aid and abet such nefarious activities.

He called for devising more effective measures by focusing on effective testing.

The spokesperson said officials focused on exploring opportunities and launching initiatives that would ensure sustainable support, resources and coordination between the police and NIA.

"This collaborative approach will further enhance investigative efficiency and enhance the overall efficacy of counter-terrorism operations. Initiatives for capacity building programs between NIA and Jammu and Kashmir Police were also discussed," he said.

NIA and police have been engaged in cracking down on the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir for the last three years.
