A person was arrested in Mizoram on Saturday in connection with smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives following searches at gun shops and other places.

The NIA investigation revealed that the accused had established a network in the border areas of Myanmar and Mizoram for procurement and transfer of arms and ammunition, and also smuggled explosives from across the Myanmar border into Mizoram and Manipur.
