Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday said Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam implemented on Monday have strengthened the basic spirit of the Constitution.

He said that the old laws only provided for punishment, but now in these new laws emphasis has been placed on justice.

Sharma, who chaired a high-level meeting of the Home Department, said the state government is working on a zero-tolerance policy towards crime, and these laws will prove to be a milestone in creating a crime-free Rajasthan and justice quick and easy.

"The concept of justice, victim-centered thinking and the principle of speedy justice have been emphasized in these new laws," he said.

Sharma said the new laws prioritize providing quick justice to the victim. Along with this, provisions have also been included to promote the interests of women, children and villagers.

The Prime Minister said that in the new criminal laws, important stages of the criminal process are subject to a fixed deadline.

The new laws include provisions such as completing the primary investigation within 14 days, providing a medical report related to the rape within seven days, framing the charges by the court within 60 days of the first hearing and making the decision within 45 days after the end of the trial. , so that the victim can obtain justice quickly, according to a statement that quotes him.

He asked officers to install a panel with information about these laws in each police station.

"A public awareness campaign is being carried out to provide information to the general public in the simplest of words," the statement added.

DGP U R Sahu said that the Rajasthan Police has made extensive preparations to implement these laws in the state. He said training has been provided to police officers, investigation officers and police officers at all levels, from police posts to police headquarters in the state.

Meanwhile, registration of FIR under the new criminal laws began on Monday.

"Rajasthan's first FIR under the BNS was registered at Sadri police station of Pali district," Sahu said.

SHO Sadri Champalal said the FIR was registered on Monday morning following a complaint from Madanlal, who was allegedly beaten up by Sumer Singh over a dispute. The FIR in connection with the incident was registered under sections 115 (2), 126 (2) and 324 (4) (5) of BNS.
