The new system also comes in the backdrop of concerns raised by pilot unions regarding rostering issues.

“With this comes the new CAE Crew Access app, which allows crew to seamlessly access real-time information, enjoy new capabilities (for example, the ability to swap flights) and a number of self-service tools, Allows you to take advantage of features like secure in-flight chat,” Wilson said.

Meanwhile, he said Air India is now carrying the 'AI' code on Air Indi Express (IX) operated flights, which will allow AIX to benefit from its global sales and distribution.

He said Air India will benefit from 9 new destinations and hundreds of additional frequencies operated by AIX, and customers will enjoy the convenience of through-checkin and baggage tagging.

“This follows the earlier rollout of AI codes on I5 flights and is a precursor to the placement of AI codes on Vistara flights as well,” Wilson said.
