New Delhi, Shares of Nestle India rose over 2 per cent on Thursday after the company reported a 27 per cent rise in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024.

The stock closed 2.39 per cent higher at Rs 2,562.70 on the BSE. During the day it rose 2.92 percent to Rs 2,576.20.

It rose 2.47 percent to Rs 2,562 on NSE.

The market capitalization of the company increased by Rs 5,765.67 crore to Rs 2,47,084.56 crore.

In terms of traded volume, 1.47 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE during the day, while over 32.41 lakh shares were traded on NSE.

FMCG major Nestle India on Thursday reported 27 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 934 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, led by strong growth momentum across its product portfolio.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 737 crore in the January-March quarter of 2022-23.

Revenue from operations increased to Rs 5,267 crore in the period under review from Rs 4,830 crore in the year-ago period.

“Despite the challenges posed by rising inflation and volatile commodity prices, we have achieved double-digit growth,” said Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India.

He said the company has seen strong growth momentum across its product portfolio due to a combination of pricing and mix.
