KATHMANDU, Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha "Prakash", who is also Nepal's foreign minister, on Wednesday met Foreign Minister S. Met Jaishankar and discussed various aspects of Nepal-India relations besides heartily congratulating him on his reappointment.

“Spoke to India's External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar on phone. Hearty congratulations on his re-appointment. Discussed various aspects of Nepal-India relations. We look forward to working together to advance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries,” External Affairs Minister Shrestha said in the exchange.

In response, Jaishankar praised and thanked Shrestha.

“Appreciated the congratulatory call from Nepal's DPM and FM @xhprakash. Thanks for their warm sentiments and good wishes. Jaishankar wrote on X, looking forward to working with him to take our deep friendship forward.

69-year-old Jaishankar took charge of the Ministry of External Affairs for the second consecutive time on Tuesday. He was among senior BJP leaders, including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and Nirmala Sitharaman, who retained the ministries they held in the previous government.
