New Delhi: The CBI has arrested two more people, including a candidate from Patna, in connection with the alleged leak of NEET-UG paper, taking the total number of people arrested by the agency to 11, officials said on Tuesday.

He said that NEET-UG aspirant Sunny, a resident of Nalanda, and father of another candidate Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Gaya, have been arrested.

The CBI has so far arrested eight people in the Bihar NEET-UG paper leak case and one each in Latur and Godhra in Gujarat in connection with alleged manipulation and arrested one person from Dehradun in connection with common conspiracy, officials said. Is.

The agency had earlier arrested in this case the principal and vice principal of Hazaribagh-based Oasis School and two people who allegedly provided secure premises to NEET aspirants, where Bihar Police had recovered burnt question papers.

The CBI, which is probing alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination, has registered six FIRs. The FIR from Bihar pertains to paper leaking, while the remaining FIRs from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra pertain to impersonation and cheating by candidates.

The agency's own FIR on a reference from the Union Education Ministry pertains to a "comprehensive investigation" into alleged irregularities in the examination.

NEET-UG is conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions. This year, the exam was held on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. More than 23 lakh candidates had appeared in this examination.
