New Delhi: The CBI has arrested Aman Singh, an alleged co-conspirator in the NEET-UG paper leak case, from Dhanbad in Jharkhand, officials said on Wednesday.

He said the CBI had developed intelligence about the Jharkhand-based module allegedly involved in the paper leak, which resulted in Singh's arrest.

Officials said the agency had earlier arrested the principal and vice principal of Hazaribagh-based Oasis School and two people in the case who allegedly provided secure premises to NEET aspirants, where Bihar Police had recovered burnt question papers. .

CBI has registered six FIRs in the case. The FIR of Bihar pertains to paper leaking, while the FIRs of Gujarat and Rajasthan pertain to impersonation and fraud by candidates.

The agency's own FIR on a reference from the Union Education Ministry pertains to a "comprehensive investigation" into alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination.

NEET-UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions.

This year, the exam was held on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. More than 23 lakh candidates had appeared in this examination.
