New Delhi, The agitation against alleged irregularities in NEET-UG, PG and UGC-NET continued on Friday, with protests by various groups of students entering the third day of their indefinite strike here at Jantar Mantar.

The leftist student outfit All India Student Association (AISA) and Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) of Delhi University, along with several other groups, gathered at Jantar Mantar to protest against the alleged cheating in the exams conducted by the National Agency of Testing.

The demands of the student groups, protesting under the slogan "India against NTA", include the scrapping of the National Testing Agency and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the issue, among others.

On Thursday, students, including the Congress's youth wing, IYC, held a massive rally at Jantar Mantar, prompting police to resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd, footage from the protest site showed.

In another protest, Congress's student wing, the National Students Union of India (NSUI), stormed the NTA headquarters in Okhla and closed the entrance to the testing agency's office with an iron padlock and a chain.

Police have registered a case against NSUI national president Varun Choudhary under sections 186 (obstruction of public servant), 353 (assault on public servant), 452 (trespass), 342/34 (wrongful imprisonment ) of the Indian Penal Code for creating ruckus in the ANT Office.

About 60 students, including members of AISA and KYS, were detained by Jantar Mantar police during the protest.

On Wednesday, the students started their protest at Jantar Mantar and were forced to leave the protest site after 5 pm. They were arrested and taken to another police station for attempting to carry out their sit-in throughout the night.

The protest comes in the wake of alleged irregularities and reports of paper leak in nationwide exams like NEET-UG, NEET-PG and UGC-NET conducted by the NTA.
