She had gone to her coaching center to appear for the exam on April 21 but did not return. Despite repeated calls from his family members, there was no response. The landlord also informed his family about his disappearance and reached Kota to search for him.

Before leaving Kota, he had left a "suicide note" in his room, in which he had mentioned his plan to jump into the Chambal river. On the basis of the note, the police searched for the student in the river but could not find her.

Meanwhile, during the police investigation, the names of Radha and Rani were found written in the student's notebook, while the investigation revealed that the student had gone to Vrindavan on Holi and stayed there near the ISKCON temple. The police formed two teams, one of which searched for him in Chambal and the other team went to Vrindavan. However, the student was not found at either place.

On Tuesday evening, his location was traced to Ludhiana, following which a police team reached the Punjab city, found him there and brought him back to Kota, where he was handed over to his family.
