Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFI) has extended fund support of Rs. Rs 25 lakh was given to Mission Foundation Movement, an NGO in Mizoram, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide relief and rehabilitation for communities affected by Cyclone Remal.

The funding was presented in the presence of Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Duhavma on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to PVSLN Murthy, CMD, NEDFI, for the important support given to the State. NEDFI General Manager Ashim Kumar Das informed the Chief Minister about the services of NEDFI aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in the state.

He highlighted the Banana Fiber Craft Cluster promoted by NEDFI at Sesawang village under the CSR program of the Corporation.

Kaleba Lalnunpuia, Project Coordinator, Mission Foundation Movement, assured NEDFI of the prompt implementation of the project, which aims to provide essential relief and rehabilitation assistance to communities affected by Cyclone Remal.

The event also saw the presence of AGM Catherine Vanlaldampui, NEDFI Branch Manager Pu Lalharuizela Funai and Aizawl Branch Manager Lalthasangi, during which the check for the project was handed over to the NGO.

Lalharuezela Fanai explained that NEDFI is providing loans at very concessional rates starting from 7 percent per annum. To cater to MSME sectors and repayment is also very satisfactory.

Agriculture Minister PC Vanlalruata, Legislative Advisor to the Chief Minister (Health & Family Welfare and Agriculture) Dr. Loren Lalpekaliana Chinjah, OSD to the Chief Minister R Lalrodingi and OSD to the Chief Minister Jonathan Lalremruata were also present in the program.
