Biryani orders were up 15 percent compared to regular months (March 12 to April 8).

Hyderabad topped the chart by ordering 10 lakh plates of biryani and 5 lakh plates of haleem.

Traditional favorites like Haleem and Samosa dominated the Ifta tables, the company said in a statement.

During Ramzan, Swiggy saw a 34 percent increase in iftar orders between 5:30 pm and 5:30 pm. till 7 pm

According to Swiggy, there was a significant increase in orders for popular dishes during Ramzan compared to normal days across the country.

While Phirni orders saw a growth of 80.97 per cent, Malpua orders saw a growth of 79.09 per cent and Falooda and Dates orders saw a growth of 57.93 per cent and 48.4 per cent respectively.

"Ramadan 'sweet spots' Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal and Meeru witnessed a huge increase in orders for Iftar sweet dishes including Malpua Dates and Phirni," the company said.
