New Delhi: The BJP on Tuesday said the victory of its alliance in the Lok Sabha elections underlines the faith and trust of the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "developed India".

Home Minister Amit Shah said on Twitter that the third consecutive victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the national elections has shown that people have faith only in Modi. The voters' support for the Prime Minister's work in the last 10 years for the welfare of the poor and farmers, revival of heritage and self-respect of women is his blessing.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the NDA's election victory is a victory for Modi's policies and his dedication towards the welfare of the poor. He said, the people of India have expressed their immense faith in the leadership of Modi.

Singh said, "Modiji is going to become the Prime Minister for the third time and under his leadership we will work with new energy and enthusiasm to realize the dream of a developed India."

Shah said, "This victory of NDA is a reflection of the unwavering faith of the people in Modi who has dedicated his life for the country."

He said that with this mandate, a "new India" is set to give further momentum and strength to the country's development journey.

Singh said that in the last 10 years, India has reached a level where not only its citizens but all countries have the confidence that it has the ability to provide leadership and new direction to a more developed world.

BJP president JP Nadda praised Modi's leadership and also lauded the saffron party's allies for their work. He said that the people of the country have once again expressed their confidence in the strong government led by the Prime Minister.

While the BJP lost its majority in the elections declared on Tuesday, the alliance led by it has easily crossed the magic figure of 272 seats.
