His comments came a day after miscreants set fire to more than 25 houses in a Dalit colony in Nawada over a property dispute.

"The terror unleashed on the Mahadalit settlement in Nawada, Bihar is another example of jungle raj under the NDA double engine government," Kharge said in a post on X.

Kharge expressed his outrage over the attack, saying, "It is condemnable that the houses of around 100 Dalits were set on fire, there was firing and whatever the poor families had was stolen in the dark of night."

Criticizing both the BJP and JD-U, he accused the double engine government of "neglecting" its duty to maintain law and order in Bihar.

"The complete disregard of the BJP and its allies towards Dalits and the underprivileged, their criminal negligence and encouragement to anti-social elements has reached its peak. Prime Minister Modi is silent as always, Nitish Kumar is not concerned about their greed." Kharge said, the ruling party and NDA allies are speechless.

Opposition parties have also blamed the government for "failing" to stop the rise in crimes against marginalized communities across the country.

According to the villagers, many houses were burnt to ashes in the fire.

Police have reportedly arrested 10 suspects in connection with the attack and are searching for other accused.

Widespread panic spread after the incident, forcing many victims to seek shelter in neighboring villages.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sunil Kumar, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Sadar-2 in Nawada district, confirmed that the incident stemmed from a property dispute and the law and order situation in the area is under control.

The accused allegedly fired several rounds in the village to terrorize the victims. The district police claimed that no one was injured or killed in the attack.
