While talking to the media, Kanungo said that Madarsa (RTE) Act.

He said NCPCR was informed that at least 9,714 Hindu students were studying in 1,755 registered madrassas in Madhya Pradesh.

Kanungo said most of the madrassas lack basic facilities, standard infrastructure and proper security arrangements.

He also said that as per the information available with NCPCR, teachers in madrassas do not have the required degree like B.Ed.

Expressing objection to Hindu students being sent to madrassas, Kanungo said, "I request the Madhya Pradesh government to take immediate action on this matter."
