Ghaziabad, A 38-year-old Muslim man has been arrested for marrying a Dalit Hindu woman under a false identity and then raping her. Police gave this information on Monday.
A senior officer said that Danish, accused in the guise of Dev, has been arrested by the officials of Sahibabad police station here.
"The woman first met 'Dev' about one and a half years ago while applying for a driving license. According to her complaint, in April last year, 'Dev' had persuaded her to wear 'mangalsutra' and set up " Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sahibabad Rajneesh Upadhyay said, "Physical relations took place during a visit to a hotel in Sahibabad."

Upadhyay said the presence of both the victim and Danish in a hotel in Sahibabad has been confirmed by evidence.
Danish has been charged under BNS sections 115(2)/123(2)/318(4), 64, and section 3(2)5 of the SC/ST Act and has been sent to jail, the official said. .
