The 24th Board meeting of Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari.

Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Dan Kishore, Hyderabad Metro Water Supply Board Managing Director Sudarshan Reddy, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ronald Ross, MRDCL Managing Director Amrapali, Board members and other officials attended the meeting.

The Chief Secretary said that the Government is giving top priority to the development of Musi Riverfront, which will be developed on a public-private partnership basis.

He asked the officials to identify some such projects which can be taken up to enhance the confidence of investors and stakeholders in the project and accelerate development in the sector.

He directed the officers to issue specific orders on formation of expert committees/advisory committees. He also asked to prepare the concept of organization structure for MRDCL.

MRDCL MD Amrapali gave a brief overview of the entire project and said that timelines have been fixed for all project components such as feasibility report, DPR of all identified projects, concept master plan etc.

He said that the draft of the master plan will be ready by the end of August.

Dana Kishore observed that many private players are showing keen interest in the project. The Board discussed the proposal to extend the Mus River to a length of 55 km from the downstream point of Osmansagar Dam to the Outer Ring Road East near Gourelli and from the downstream point of Himayatsagar Dam to the confluence point at Bapughat under the first phase. The board also resolved to consider proposals for conservation, restoration and development of heritage structures around the Musi River in the city.
