Noida, A 23-year-old man wanted in a murder case was arrested near Noida after an encounter with police in which he was injured. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

There was a reward of Rs 25,000 on the arrest of the accused. According to the police, he and his associate had allegedly shot dead a liquor vendor after he refused to sell liquor in Greater Noida's New Haibatpu village around midnight on March 31.

It was reported that the accused, identified as Nazim, a native of Meerut, was caught after a shootout near a Murti Chowk in Bisrakh police station area late on Monday night.

Police said they had set up a checkpoint and signaled the accused, who came on a motorcycle, to stop for questioning, but he fled, opening fire on the police team, following which he was chased and fired upon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Suniti said, "An illegal gun along with some ammunition has been seized from Nazim. The motorcycle has been seized. The accused has been shot in the arm and has been taken to hospital for treatment." has been moved."

"The name of the accused had surfaced in the case of murder of a liquor vendor in Haibatpur village on March 31, for which an FIR was lodged at Bisrakh police station," the officer said.

Police said that two other accused have already been arrested in the murder of the liquor salesman.
