Pune (Maharashtra) [India], Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday offered prayers to Saint Dnyaneshwar and said the municipal corporation had received Rs 800 million to rid the city of pollution.

Maharashtra CM visited the Darshan Mandap building at Alandi in Pune district on the occasion of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Wari Palkhi.

"I consider myself lucky to have been able to visit this place and I pray to Saint Dnyaneshwar that our farmers are freed from all problems, this year's rains are fruitful and that all people remain blessed and happy... The municipal corporation has received 800 crore to rid the city of pollution," Maharashtra CM told reporters. Terming the state budget as "revolutionary", Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that this budget, in a true sense, empowers to women, youth and farmers through various schemes worth Rs 1 lakh crore.

He said that this budget is revolutionary and would make the future of weaker sections, farmers and youth bright.

Asserting that the budget was a decision to give a new direction to Maharashtra, CM Shinde said that this budget has an "endless hymn of the development of Maharashtra". Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented in the state assembly on Saturday the additional budget for the year 2024-25.

The Finance Minister presented the interim budget in February.

Stating that the budget contains important provisions to help unemployed women and youth to fend for themselves, the Chief Minister said, "Chief Minister Majhi Laadki Baheen's scheme, free vocational education for girl students, Minister's scheme Main Annapoorna providing 3 cylinders per year to eligible families, Rs 15,000 crore project to provide free electricity to farmers during day time, Chief Minister Baliraja's electricity concession scheme providing free power to farmers use agricultural pumps, training 50,000 youth every year to convey the government schemes to the masses and The determination to eliminate poverty from the weaker sections of the society has made this budget special."He said that provisions like free education for engineering, pharmacy and medical education students along with degree and diploma courses along with Rs. 1,500 per month to each woman proves that the government has expressed its responsibility towards the women of the state.

Chief Minister Shinde said the budget shows support for farmers and the issue of foodgrain storage would be resolved through schemes like village-wise Godown.

He said the lives of farmers would be transformed through various provisions of the budget including financial assistance to cotton and soybean farmers, special drives to complete irrigation projects and on-demand solar pumps. Noting that the decision to hold the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through a ceremony every year at Fort Raigad is important, the Chief Minister said other decisions include recommending the annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with rock sculptures in Konkan. The celebration of Dahi Handi are efforts for the preservation of the history and culture of the state.

He said the budget provides Rs 20,000 to each Dindi (the troops participating in the annual Pandharpur pilgrimage) and the announcement of making arrangements for medical treatment of pilgrims through the Chief Minister's medical aid cell and the provision for Nirmal Waari show their commitment to the annual sect of pilgrims and Warkari.

He said that a separate Warkari Mahamandal or a separate Corporation would be created for the annual pilgrims. Stating that massive investments would be made in priority sectors and in the green hydrogen sector, he said it would generate employment to a large extent.

He said the Prime Minister's youth training scheme would impart training to ten lakh youth every year and a center of excellence would be established in ITI which would benefit the youth.

The Prime Minister said metro routes worth 449 kilometers in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur along with works of 23 thousand kilometer road stretches under Chief Minister Gram Sadak's plan, construction of buildings of the Panchayats of villages under the Balasaheb Thackeray Matoshree Gram Panchayat, PM commemorative scheme, PM e- Bus project in municipal corporation areas and other infrastructure works will be carried out on a large scale, resulting in rapid development of the state.The session The Maharashtra Assembly monsoon season began on Thursday (June 28) and will continue till July 12. This is the last legislative session before the state assembly elections in the next four months.
