Bhadrak (Odisha), a Mumbai police team has arrested five people from Bhadrak city of Odisha and its surrounding villages in a cyber crime case. Police gave this information on Monday.
The suspects were identified as Hariram Chaudhary (25), Nirakar Das (30), Rabindra Kumar Behera (22), Amar Kumar Parida (23) and Anadi Kumar Parida (29).
Two FIRs were registered against these people at Mumbai's Bandra police station for allegedly defrauding Moses Vincent of around Rs 35 lakh through cyber fraud, a police officer said.
A five-member team of Bandra Police had reached Bhadrak three days ago. They traced the suspects using mobile tracking and conducted the raid with the assistance of local police, the officer said.
Inspector Amitabh Das, in-charge of Bhadrak rural police station, said the accused were produced in the Bhadrak SDJM court to obtain permission to take them to Bandra for further investigation.
He said he was sent to police custody and will be taken to Bandra on Monday.
