Mumbai: Police have registered a case against unidentified persons for allegedly sending bomb threat emails to over 60 establishments in Mumbai, including the civic body, major hospitals and colleges, an official said on Wednesday.

The emails were received on Monday and Tuesday.

A bomb threat email was sent to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and other major establishments. A similar email was also received by major hospitals and colleges of the city.

The official said that in view of the seriousness of the incident, a case has been registered against the person sending the email under various sections of the IPC at Azad Maidan police station.

The police conducted a security check of those establishments and later it was revealed that someone had played mischief as nothing suspicious was found at all these places.
