A foolproof security ring has been put up around the route and venue of the 10th International Yoga Day in the city of Srinagar, which Prime Minister Modi will attend on Friday.

This is Prime Minister Modi's first visit to J&K after being elected Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive here in the evening. Officials said this is a strictly official visit of the Prime Minister and no meetings/interactions with either the BJP or any other political party are likely to take place during this visit.

After landing at Srinagar Technical Airport, the Prime Minister will fly by helicopter to Army 15 Corps Headquarters in Srinagar at Badami Bagh Cantonment before reaching Raj Bhawan in Chashma Shahi area of ​​Srinagar.

He will then go to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on the banks of the famous Dal Lake, where he will lay the foundation/inaugurate 84 projects in J&K.

On Thursday around 6 pm, PM Modi will participate in the 'Empower Youth, Transform J&K' event at SKICC. He will also launch the Rs 1,800 crore Competitiveness Enhancement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).

The project will be implemented in 90 blocks in 20 districts of J&K and will have a reach of three lakh households covering 15 lakh beneficiaries.

'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event will showcase progress and inspire young achievers. During this event, PM Modi will inspect the stalls and interact with the young achievers of J&K.

He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 84 major development projects valued at over Rs 1,500 crore.

The inaugurations will include projects related to road infrastructure, water supply schemes and higher education infrastructure.

He will also lay the foundation stone of projects like improvement of Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri stretch of Srinagar-Jammu national highway, development of industrial estates and construction of six government colleges.

The laying of foundation stone, inauguration and launch of these projects will empower the youth and improve infrastructure in J&K.

The Prime Minister will also distribute appointment letters to over 2,000 appointees in government service.

The Prime Minister will participate in the celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21 at the SKICC. The theme of this year's Yoga celebration is "Yoga for Self and Society." This means that the physical and mental well-being of citizens is of great value to the progress, stability and integrity of the country.

Prime Minister Modi will also address the participants in the yoga session at the SKICC.

Police have declared Srinagar city as a temporary red zone for any drone operations other than those carried out as part of VVIP security.

Traffic movement has been restricted on Boulevard Road and commuters have been advised to take alternative routes to reach the Mughal Gardens and other places in the city.

Boulevard Road passes in front of SKICC, the venue for Prime Minister Modi's Yoga Day, which would be attended by more than 7,000 more participants.

The place has been taken by the SPG that guards the Prime Minister. The SPG is working in close coordination and complete synergy with the state security to take care of even the smallest detail related to VVIP security as detailed in the blue book.

Extraordinary security measures have been taken with deployment of large number of police and CAPF in and around Srinagar city.

All vehicles entering the city through the neighboring districts of Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama and Baramulla are being thoroughly checked and their occupants frisked.

Despite increased security, there is no tension in the city or anywhere else in the Valley as daily life goes on as normal with people attending businesses, offices and academic institutions.
