Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka) BJP leader C T Ravi on Thursday termed as "dishonest" Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's defense in connection with the alleged fraudulent allotment of land to land losers by the Development Authority Mysuru Urban District (MUDA), involving plots given to his wife Parvathi.

The MLC also alleged that the CM appears to be "recklessly advocating corruption".

“The Chief Minister's conduct in response to allegations about MUDA sites is one of intelligent defense and not honesty. This is a case involving CM’s wife, the allegation is against CM and his wife,” Ravi said.

Addressing reporters here, he said, “The CM seems to be recklessly defending corruption. His responses to the accusations are dishonest and defend lies.”

It is alleged that Siddaramaiah's wife was allotted compensatory land in an exclusive area of Mysuru, the property of which had a higher value compared to the location of her land which had been "acquired" by the MUDA.

MUDA had allotted plots to Parvathi on a 50:50 ratio scheme in lieu of 3.16 acres of her land, where MUDA developed a residential layout.

The controversial plan calls for allocating 50 percent of developed land to the loser, instead of undeveloped land acquired to form layouts.

Referring to the 3.16 acres of land belonging to Siddaramaiah's wife that was allegedly taken "illegally" by MUDA, Ravi said buying land once notified is wrong but the CM's brother-in-law bought it and then gave it to him. to her sister. (Parvathi) as gift deed.

“Even when the gift deed was made, records show that the land was converted and was in the name of MUDA. It is clear that Siddaramaiah has used her influence,” he claimed.

The former BJP national general secretary also claimed that Siddaramaiah did not mention the 3.16 acres of land in his affidavit regarding the 2013 assembly elections.
