Mysuru (Karnataka) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday alleged that he was being unnecessarily attacked in the case of alleged fraudulent allotment of land to land losers by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), involving plots given to his wife Parvathi.

Claiming that a heartburn conspiracy is being hatched against him as he belongs to a backward class community and has become prime minister for the second time, he asserted that he will not fear such conspiracies.

The chief minister was reacting to BJP state president B Y Vijayendra's announcement of a "mega" protest in Siddaramaiah's home district of Mysuru on July 12 in connection with the alleged "scam".

"Haven't we given it (the MUDA scam) for an investigation... the BJP is doing things for politics, will we have to do politics if they do politics? Let them do it (protest) under the leadership of anyone, let them do it do (protest) under the leadership of anyone, than to do it under the leadership of J. P. Nadda (BJP national president). If they do it, we will also do it politically. Only they can do politics. We also know how to counter it politically." , Siddaramaiah told reporters here.

To a question about the BJP's attempt to attack him at the sites allotted to his wife, the CM said: "They have to say where it is illegal. We say things are legal. Let them prove that it is illegal."

"Unnecessarily (I am being attacked) for the sake of politics. They are doing it for the sake of politics because they could not find anything against me. As Siddaramaiah, who is from the backward class, has become the chief minister of The second time, people have heartburn, so a conspiracy is being hatched. Will I be afraid of such conspiracies?

It is alleged that compensatory land was allotted to Siddaramaiah's wife in an exclusive area of Mysuru, the property value of which was higher compared to the location of her land which had been "acquired" by the MUDA.

MUDA had allotted plots to Parvathi on a 50:50 ratio scheme in lieu of 3.16 acres of her land, where MUDA developed a residential layout.

The controversial plan calls for allocating 50 percent of developed land to the loser, instead of undeveloped land acquired to form layouts.

Asserting that he will ensure that there is a "cleansing" in MUDA, which has been "rotten" for some time now, even during the BJP government, the chief minister, in response to a question, said that an inquiry will be conducted into the alleged irregularities that have occurred. there.

"My family's case is not a scandal, our case is different from the others. In our case, our land was illegally occupied and used by MUDA to make a layout," he said.

Observing that in 2014, MUDA, even though 3.16 acres of his wife's land did not belong to him, created sites on them and allotted them to people, Siddaramaiah said, "What should we do? Should we keep silent? The "Alternative sites were searched by us, but we did not look for them in any specific locality: Vijayanagara."

Observing that the BJP was in power when alternative sites were allotted, the CM said, "Who should be responsible? It is they who gave alternative sites in the locality (Vijayanagara). We did not ask for it (in Vijayanagara). They only asked that it be give us alternative sites instead of our land that was taken over by MUDA.

"If MUDA made a mistake when the BJP was in power, how can Siddaramaiah be responsible for it?" he questioned.

As per the land acquisition act, his family is entitled to compensation from MUDA for grabbing the land, Siddaramaiah said. "MUDA will have to pay Rs 62 crore (as compensation). Let them take back the allotted alternative sites. We had not asked for it in Vijayanagar...it was done while the BJP was in power," he said.

To a question about activist T.J. Abraham who filed a complaint against him before the Election Commission alleging that he had not disclosed in his affidavit his wife Parvathi's ownership of 3 acres and 16 guntas of land, Siddaramaiah said, "If the Election Commission gives notice, I will respond to it and give the response that is necessary in accordance with the law."
