CRPF jawan Kabir Das Uike, a resident of Pulpuldoh village in Chhindwara, was seriously injured in an encounter in Saida Sukhal village of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening (June 11) and later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the dead body of the jawan reached Mungapar in the district (about 15 km from his village), where State Minister Sampatia Uike, Chhindwara MP Vivek Bunty Sahu, local public representatives and others paid tribute to the jawan. After this the convoy reached the jawan's village where he was given a guard of honor and the last rites were performed with respect.
