Rakhi Das, the third person to receive an Indian citizenship certificate under the CAA, has her ancestral roots in Bangladesh.

Sameer Salwani and Sanjana Salwani, whose father was a native of Pakistan, moved to India in 2012. The state government said in a statement on Thursday that the trio had applied for Indian citizenship in May this year.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav handed over the certificates to him at the State Secretariat in Bhopal.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Yadav said, "The people who have been given Indian citizenship certificates were living in neighboring countries, which were part of 'Akhand Bharat'. The state government welcomes them. Now they have been given Indian citizenship. "I am allowed to live here as a citizen." ,

The Chief Minister also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made this possible by bringing CAA.
