Sagar (MP), Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday demanded the removal of the Collector and Superintendent of Police of Madhya Pradesh's Saga district after the sister of a slain Dalit youth died under mysterious circumstances.

Describing the incident as heart-wrenching, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra told X that BJP leaders are after the Constitution because they do not want women, Dalits, STs and backward classes to live with dignity in the country.

The women of the country will no longer remain silent,” she wrote.Singh reached Barodia Nonagir village to meet the family members of Anjan Ahirwar, who died on Sunday after falling from the ambulance carrying the body of his uncle.

The administration had promised Anjana a government job, what did she give? He also made some other promises like demolishing the houses (of the accused), did he demolish them? He said, "I am not in favor of bulldozing someone's house, but in the name of action you demolish the houses of many people."

Singh sat near Anjana's body and spoke to her family and later attended her funeral.

Police sources said that Anjana's uncle Rajendra Ahirwar was beaten to death on May 25 by someone over an old enmity.

Anjana had alleged that her brother Nitin Ahirwar alias Lalu was murdered in August last year by some people who used to harass him.Anjana died after falling from the ambulance carrying her uncle's body in Sagar on Sunday.

Singh demanded the removal of the entire district administration including the Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) over the incident.

The woman's family members told Singh that the security provided to them was removed by the administration and even the cameras installed in their area were removed.

Anjana was an educated woman and was taking care of the family. Singh said, she is no more today and I am very disappointed.The Congress leader claimed that police security was removed 10 days before the present incident. He said, a lot of pressure was put on him to change his statement.

There were three witnesses to Lalu's murder...one was Rajendra, the other was Anjana and the third was his mother.

Rajendra was murdered for not yielding to pressure. And Anjana died, Singh said.

He alleged that Anjana had complained to the police a few days ago about being pressurized to change her statement but the police did not take any action on it.

Singh claimed that Anjana had said from the beginning that Ankit Thakur was involved in the incident, but he was not arrested because he is a muscleman and has been given political shelter.Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sinha earlier told reporters that Rajendra Ahirwar (24), who was injured in a clash between two groups under Khurai police station, died.

Anjana fell from the ambulance carrying the body of Rajendra Ahirwar to his village after the postmortem in Sagar.

His family members were with the body, Sinha said. When asked whether Rajendra Ahirwar was murdered due to pressure to settle an old case, Sinha said all the facts would come out during the investigation.

Last August, Nitin Ahirwar was allegedly beaten to death by a group of people in Sagar district over an old enmity.After his death, Anjana Ahirwar filed an FIR that her brother was murdered because some people were pressurizing her to compromise in the harassment case.
