Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday met the family members of Anjana Ahirwar, sister of slain Dalit youth Anjana Ahirwar, who died under mysterious circumstances in Sagar district two days ago.

After meeting the family members, Yadav announced that a police post would be set up at Barodia Nonagir, where the family of the deceased lives.

Ahirwar's brother Nitin Ahirwar alias Lalu was allegedly beaten to death by some people who were pressing for a settlement in a harassment case last August. She died on 26 May after she fell from the ambulance carrying the body of her uncle, who had reportedly been beaten. The police had said that some persons had committed murder the previous day.On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had spoken to Ahirwar's family and assured them of support, while party MP chief Jitu Patwari met him in his village.

Patwari has demanded a CBI inquiry into the “suspicious” death of Ahirwar, the murder of his uncle and his brother and alleged that “jungle raj” prevails in the BJP-ruled state.

After meeting the family members, Yadav said the state government was making efforts to ensure that such a "tragic incident" does not happen again.

He said that the state government is with the victim's family and a police post will be opened in the village to prevent such incidents.

Yadav blamed "mutual enmity" for the incidents and said that though the state government was not a party to the case, it stood with the family of the deceased.

Asked about Rahul Gandhi talking to the family members, Yadav said, "Congress should not do politics over such tragic incidents.,

Yadav said that financial assistance of Rs 8.25 lakh will be given to the family of Rajendra Ahirwar.

During the meeting with Ahirwar's family on Tuesday, Patwari called Rahu Gandhi and got him to talk to his brother.

Gandhi assured Ahirwar's brother that Congress would provide all possible help to the family.

“A woman is molested, then her brother is murdered, and later while seeking justice her uncle is also murdered. His mother was stripped and paraded around the village and now the complainant woman was also murdered. Same is the situation in Madhya Pradesh. It appears that jungle raj prevails here,” Patwari had said on Tuesday.

He accused the administration of colluding with the killers of Ahirwar's uncle.Patwari said that he will demand a CBI inquiry into this matter.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP over Anjan Ahirwar's death and said, "We will create a system where even the weakest will be able to speak out strongly against oppression."
