Sasaram (Bihar) [India], In an incident that took place in Sasaram on Friday night, three bike riders opened fire on constables patrolling Darigaon area during checking.
Police officials said that a constable was injured in the firing.
According to the Superintendent of Police, "Last night in Darigaon police station area, three unidentified motorcycle-riding criminals opened fire on the policemen patrolling on bike during a routine check. During the firing, a constable got shot in his hand."
The police further said, "A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to further investigate the case. We request the public to share whatever relevant information they may have."
Earlier, on June 19, Bihar Land Reforms and Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal had announced that the state government has decided to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Bihar Police in every district of the state.
Special investigation teams will have the power to shoot at sight those found roaming with illegal firearms.
Addressing a public meeting in Purnia, he said, "Bihar government has decided that an SIT will be formed in every district. Criminals who roam around with rifles and guns will be shot on sight. No criminal will be spared." will not go."
