KOLKATA: West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose on Monday criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's handling of a woman employee's molestation complaint against him during election rallies and termed her politics as "dirty", here. Even the ruling TMC urged him to "come clean" on the issue. Blame.

A contractual female employee of Raj Bhavan had on Friday lodged a written complaint with the Kolkata Police accusing the Governor of molestation.

The governor had described the allegations as an "absurd drama" and said that no one would be able to stop him from "his determined efforts to expose corruption and curb violence".

Speaking to reporters at the Kolkata airport on Monday on his return from Kerala, Bose expressed disappointment over Banerjee's "didigiri" (arbitrariness towards the office of the Governor).

“Mamata Banerjee's politics is dirty.Still, I will pray to God to save them, but it is difficult even for God. I will never accept this 'didigiri' on the prestigious post of Governor. That's all I have to say," she said.

Bose's comments were in response to Banerjee calling the allegations against him at political rallies in the state "shameful and disturbing".

C had said at a rally last week, “It is extremely sad that the same governor, who was very prompt in reaching out to Sandeshkhali, is now accused of molesting a woman employee.,

Meanwhile, TMC leader Shantanu Sen accused the Governor of partisan behaviour, alleging that Raj Bhavan has become an "extension of the BJP's partial office".

He said, "Before leveling allegations, the Governor should clarify the allegations. I have not committed any mistake, so they have nothing to worry about. Everyone should cooperate with the police."

A senior Kolkata Police official on Monday said their investigation is into the allegations lodged by the woman at the Hare Street police station and not against anyone in particular."The investigation is about the contents of the letter in relation to an incident, not against anyone," he said.

As part of the investigation, police officials spoke to their colleagues who were on duty at the Raj Bhavan, he said.

However, Kolkata Police has not yet received the CCTV footage sought from Raj Bhavan, the official said.

On Sunday, the Governor had directed all Raj Bhavan employees to ignore any communication from the Kolkata Police regarding the woman employee's complaint of molestation against them.

"It is clear that in view of Article 361 (2) and (3) of the Constitution of India, the State Police cannot in any way inquire/investigate/initiate any kind of proceeding against the Honorable Governor.,” Bose had said.
