Bengaluru, Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) defeated Bengaluru FC 4-0 in the Indian Super League here on Thursday.

With 45 points from 21 matches, the Mariners are two points behind top-placed Mumba City FC (47).

The Islanders and Mariners will clash at the Salt Lake Stadium on April 15 with the side looking to retain their crown in an exciting finale to the 10th season of the ISL.

With four different scorers in the form of Hector Yuste, Manvir Singh, Anirudh Thapa, Armando Sadiku, the Mariners didn't sweat any sweat to secure one of their most impressive wins of the campaign so far.

It started with a powerful strike from Hector on the rebound in the 17th minute.After winning a corner, Dimitrios Petratos found Hector in some space near the right post and Hector attempted a shot which deflected back after hitting the crossbar. The midfielder kept his composure, created space and fired it into the net to take the lead.

Defender Anwar Ali almost ended it after 22 minutes when he brought down Bengaluru FC forward Sunil Chhetri inside the box.

Chhetri stepped up to take the spot-kick, but instead fired over the crossbar.

However, the Mariners won the game in the first 15 minutes of the second half, in which Manveer played an important role.Manvir played a pass to Jonny Cowko, who waited for his teammate to sprint past him to deliver a back-heel pass to the Indian winger. He received the seventh delivery, unlocked the Blues' backline and slid the ball into the back of the net in the 51st minute.

Three minutes later a fast break tripled the Mariners' lead, this time with Thap getting his name on the scoresheet.

Manvir continued to tease the Bengaluru FC defense from one end as he raced down the left and beat his markers at pace before scoring an assist from Sadiku in the 59th minute of the match.
