Sambalpur (Odisha): Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a "messiah" for the poor in India, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday claimed that 25 crore people have been brought below the poverty line under the PM's leadership.
Singh said this while addressing an election rally in Rairakhol under Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is the BJ candidate from Sambalpur constituency.

Singh criticized the BJD government of Odisha for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme that provides free healthcare to the people. "I voted to come to power, the BJP government will issue Ayushman Bharat cards to the people of Odisha," Singh said.
Calling on people to vote on the lotus symbol to ensure the Modi government takes forward welfare schemes for the poor, Singh asked whether Modi's welfare schemes were reaching the people in Odisha.
