Mumbai: After two days of light rain, the city and suburbs received moderate to heavy rain on Thursday, but there were no reports of any major waterlogging.

According to officials, local trains are running with slight delays, while road traffic is normal in Mumbai.

The Mumbai center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall over the city and suburbs in the next 24 hours, along with heavy rainfall at isolated places, a civic official said.

The official said that there will be a high tide of 4.04 meters in the Arabian Sea at 3.40 pm.

Most parts of the city and suburbs received intermittent moderate to heavy rain since Thursday morning.

The intensity of rainfall was higher in the island city compared to the suburbs.

In the 24-hour period ending 8 am on Thursday, the island city recorded an average rainfall of 50.16 mm, while the eastern and western parts received 27.01 mm and 55.95 mm rainfall respectively, the official said.

According to officials, there is no report of any major waterlogging in the city.
