New Delhi, Sports Ministry's Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has approved the request of tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his doubles partner Sriram Balaji for assistance to compete in two ATP Tour events ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Bopanna and Balaji will travel to Hamburg and Umag in Croatia with their coaches and physiotherapists to compete in ATP 500 events before flying to Paris.

The MOC also approved the request of shooters Rhythm Sangwan, Sarabjot Singh, Vijayveer and Anish Bhanwala for assistance towards the expenses of personal trainers or coaches during the Olympic training camp in Valmerange, France and the Paris Olympics.

The Target Olympic Podium Plan will cover the cost of their flights, food and accommodation, visa and local transportation.

Skeet shooters Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjit Singh Naruka's requests for assistance to train with private coaches Riccardo Filippelli in Arezzo, Italy and Ennio Falco at Tiro a Volo Falco range in Capua, Italy respectively, were also approved by the MOC.

During the meeting, the MOC decided to extend assistance to steeplechasers Avinash Sable and Parul Chaudhary as well as their coach Scott Simmons to train in St. Moritz, Switzerland for 24 days ahead of the Olympic Games.

Requests for assistance in purchasing equipment of the women's 4x400m relay team and requests to support table tennis player Harmeet Desai's training in Biberach, Germany and purchase of various consumables as well as fees for support staff were also approved by the MOC. it was done.

MOC included 400m runner Kiran Pahal, high jumper Sarvesh Anil Kushare and shot putter Abha Khatua in the TOPS core group for the Paris Olympic cycle.
