New Delhi [India], Amid issues and controversies related to the conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and declaration of results, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday urged all state governments to come forward. Remove these discrepancies and raise voice against injustice.

Criticizing the conduct of entrance exams, he reiterated that NEET and other entrance exams are anti-poor. They undermine federal politics and affect the availability of doctors in eligible areas.

In a post to X, MK Stalin wrote, "The trends emerging from the latest #NEET results have once again vindicated our principled opposition to the exam.Issues like question paper leaks, clustering of toppers at specific centers and award of marks, which is mathematically impossible, highlight the disadvantages of centralization of the present central government in the guise of grace marks.

“These events emphasize the need to restore the role of state governments and the school education system in setting criteria for professional course selection. We reiterate that NEET and other entrance examinations are anti-poor, they undermine federal politics , impact the availability of doctors and are against social justice.

“Let us join hands to end this disease. That day is not far!”

Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticized the Modi government on Friday over alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam.

This criticism comes after controversies emerged regarding the conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and declaration of results.

67 students secured top ranks in the recently declared NEET results, including six from the same exam centre.

He further demanded the government to properly investigate the matter by addressing the 'legitimate grievances' of the students.

He also raised the issue of student suicide and dissatisfaction with NEET results.

In a post on Serious questions are being raised on six students, one center has got 720 marks out of 720 and many irregularities are coming to light, while on the other hand, after the declaration of results, there are reports of many children committing suicide across the country.

"Why is the government ignoring the voice of millions of students? Students want answers to questions related to rigging in NEET exam results. Is it not the responsibility of the government to investigate and resolve these complaints?"

However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) denied any irregularities and attributed the record results to several factors, including an easier exam, increase in registrations, one question with two correct answers and 'loss of exam time'. Reason includes grace points.

A total of 20.38 lakh students had registered for the exam, out of which 11.45 lakh candidates qualified. The result was declared on Tuesday and 67 students have secured All India Rank (AIR) 1.
