Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba said here on Monday that misuse of ED, CBI and electoral bonds will not help BJ retain power and his slogan of "crossing 400" will remain just a slogan.

Addressing a press conference, he said that the Narendra Modi government is benefiting business houses and has waived off Rs 16 lakh crore of two industrialists.

Lamba said he visited 27 states and did not see any Modi wave anywhere as the BJP is claiming. He said that at present there are only two issues – unemployment and inflation.

"Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and misuse of electoral bonds will not help BJP retain power," he said.

Congress has already announced that it will give Rs 8,500 per month to the oldest women from poor families and will also scrap the Agniveer scheme if voted to power.

He said that Himachal Pradesh has given a message to the people of the rest of the country by ousting the "double engine government" from power and the same will be repeated in the Lok Sabha elections.

Taking a dig at BJP candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, actress Kangana Ranaut, he said that political life is not a film.

Lamba said Kangana should ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi why he has kept "gang rapist" M Prajwal Revanna, who has fled the country, in the ND fold; And why no FIR was filed against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who "exploited" wrestler Sakshi Malik. The Congress official said that Kangana is making derogatory remarks against the Congress leaders who sacrificed their lives for the country. He demanded an apology and said, such things are not expected from Mandi's daughter.Lamba said that when Kangana is not available during the elections, one can wonder what will happen after that.
