The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is scheduled to begin on June 24 and end on July 3.

"I hope that all the newly elected Honorable Members will contribute in maintaining the rich traditions of the Indian Parliament, enhancing its glory and maintaining the dignity of the House to serve the nation," the minister said in his post.

The minister also shared an excerpt from the speech given by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the Lok Sabha in 2000.

During this session, the newly elected MPs will be administered the oath, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be elected and President Draupadi Murmu will give her traditional address in the Parliament.

On Wednesday, Minister Rijiju posted on Twitter, “The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is being convened from 24.6.24 to 3.7.24 for oath/affirmation of newly elected members, election of the Speaker, President's address and discussion thereon. The 264th session of Rajya Sabha will begin on 27.6.24 and end on 3.7.24.”
