On Wednesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard journalist Ehtisham Abbasi's petition against disruption of access to X.

Interior Secretary Khurram Aga presented a report on the IHC on behalf of his ministry, highlighting "Twitter/X's failure to comply with legal instructions from the Government of Pakistan and address concerns regarding misuse of its platform". . restrictions".

The report said the Interior Ministry had "asked OX (Twitter) to be immediately blocked until further orders" on February 17 over the intelligence agencies' report.

Separately, the Sindh High Court, in a similar hearing, summoned a response by May 9 from the interior ministry on the ban on X and ordered it to revoke within a week the February 17 letter that had disrupted the service. .

Various rights bodies and journalist groups have condemned the ban, while internet service providers have also lamented the losses caused by the disruptions.
