The sequel to Will Smith's 2007 blockbuster was first announced for March 2022, with Smith set to return alongside new cast member Jordan.

"We're still working on the script and making it better," Jordan told People.com.

“It doesn't have any release date or anything like that. I'm not sure exactly where we'll be filming it, but I'm really excited to get in front of the camera with him (Will Smith).

Jordan said that he had been looking up to Smith for a long time.

“Being able to work with Will, someone I've really looked up to for a long time, is something I'm really looking forward to. "I'm really excited," the actor said, reports variety.com.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, "I Am Legend" stars Smith as virologist Robert Neville, the sole survivor of a man-made plague in New York City that turns humans into bloodthirsty mutants. His mission to find a cure brings him into contact with other survivors.

Earlier this year, at a film festival, Smith had shared that 'I Am Legend 2' would use an alternate ending of the 2007 film in which his character lived.

Meanwhile, Jordan is set to appear in the new film from his 'Fruitvale Station', 'Creed' and 'Black Panther' director Ryan Coogler.
