Authorities have ordered suspension of class work in many schools in the flood/landslide prone area.

The flood control department is releasing water gauge readings of river Jhelum at Sangam in Anantnag, Pampore in Pulwama, Ram Munshibagh in Srinagar and Assam in Bandipora district on an hourly basis. This is being done to keep people living in areas near water bodies informed about the latest water level readings.

Although till now Jhelum has not reached the danger mark at any place and officials are claiming that there is no danger of flood at present, but people are worried about the rain.
