Shimla: The weather office on Wednesday issued orange warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm with lightning and strong wind (40-50 kmph) at many isolated places.

The weather department said conditions are likely to become favorable for further advance of southwest monsoon into Himachal Pradesh during the next 3-4 days.

The weather office said an orange warning has been issued in Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on June 29 and 30.

It also issued a yellow warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind (40-50 kmph) at isolated places in Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Una and Kullu districts from June 28 to 30.

The weather department has warned of damage to plantations, horticulture and standing crops, partial damage to weak structures, minor damage to kutcha houses and huts due to strong winds and rain, disruption in traffic and water logging in low-lying areas.

Residents of Jayawala village in Solan district are worried as landslides caused by rains have put their houses and agricultural lands in danger.

Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma, who held several meetings with various departments regarding monsoon preparations, said houses in the danger zone have been identified and instructions have been issued to relocate people living near rivers and in endangered houses. went.
