Latur, A mentally ill woman and her 4-year-old daughter, who were living on the side of a highway in Latur district of Maharashtra for the last several months, were introduced to their family members by some youths.

They had spotted the woman and child on the Aurad-Shahjani road in February and alerted an NGO that works for the welfare of such persons.

"We found that the woman's son had drowned in a well about 100 meters away from where she was sitting in Shirshi Hangarga village. Her husband died soon after and the crisis affected her mental state. We offered her divine service. Kept under the care of the Residential Rehabilitation Center at Varvand in Buldhana district,” Religion to Responsibility officer Rahul Patil Chakurkar said on Sunday.

"After treatment at the center for a few months, the woman and her daughter recently met their relatives in Nilanga tehsil. Her other son, who has passed the Class XII exam and works in a hotel, and a 12-year-old The son and daughter were very happy,” he said.
